Lunar New Year is just around the corner, and Asia Market has curated a spectacular lineup of events to mark this special occasion. From hands-on experiences to luxurious indulgence and family-friendly celebrations, there’s something for everyone. Here’s what’s in store:
Saturday, January 25th - Dumpling Making Masterclasses
Location: Asia Market, Drury Street, Dublin 2
Time: 12pm, 2pm, or 4pm
Price: €30.00 per person
Kick off the Lunar New Year festivities by learning the art of dumpling making! Chef Jianan Liu of Janet’s @ Eatyard and Eva Pau, Asia Market’s TV chef and commercial director, will guide you through crafting two types of dumplings from scratch. This family-friendly class is perfect for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult) and is vegan-friendly too.
Sunday January 26th - Dumpling Making Masterclass at Mini Asia Market Maynooth
Location: Mini Asia Market, Maynooth
Time:1pm - 2pm

Thursday, January 30th - ‘Snake in the Glass’ Cocktail Making Class
Location: J.T. Pim’s, South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2
Time: 7pm onwards
Price: €50.00 per person
Shake things up with an immersive cocktail-making experience inspired by the Lunar New Year. Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin’s Cian Wrynne and master mixologist Gary Quinn will teach you to craft Asian-inspired cocktails. Create your own signature teapot cocktail using botanical infusions for a memorable evening.
Sunday, February 9th - Family-Friendly Carnival Celebrations
Location: Asia Market, Drury Street, Dublin 2
Time: 12pm – 5pm
Price: Free Entry
Bring the whole family to a lively Lunar New Year carnival outside Asia Market’s city-centre store. Enjoy an outdoor market featuring traditional arts and crafts, authentic Asian cuisine stalls, and complimentary dumplings served from tuk tuks. Between 12pm and 3pm, witness stunning lion and dragon dance performances, accompanied by free kids’ entertainment such as face painting and balloon artistry.
Saturday, February 1st & Saturday, February 8th - ‘Chinese Whispers’ Afternoon Tea
Location: Bewley’s, Grafton Street, Dublin 2
Time: 1pm onwards
Price: €59.00 per person (minimum booking for two people)
Indulge in a luxurious afternoon tea experience at Bewley’s, Grafton Street, in collaboration with Asia Market. The James Joyce Room, adorned with traditional Japanese-themed wallpaper, sets the scene for a relaxing afternoon. Savour Asian-inspired patisserie, Roast Apple & Chinese Five Spice Scones, and scrumptious sandwiches paired with master-blended Chinese teas or your choice of coffee.
Thursday, February 6th - Lunar New Year Banquet
Location: Good World Restaurant, South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2
Time: 7pm onwards
Price: €75.00 per person
Immerse yourself in a lavish dining experience at Good World Restaurant. Indulge in an elaborate 11-dish feast, featuring Crab Claws with Prawn & Fish Stuffing, Whole Steamed Seabass, and Salt & Chilli Tiger Prawns.
