Air Fryer Soy Sauce Chicken Wings
Portion for 4 people
Ingredients
- 2lb of Chicken Wings
-
1 tsp of Salt
- 1 tsp of Black Pepper
-
1 tbsp of Five Spice Powder
- 1 tbsp of Garlic Powder
-
2 tbsp of Oil
-
1 tbsp of Sesame Seeds
-
1 stalk of Green Onion (chopped)
Soy Sauce Glaze:
-
½ cup of Soy Sauce
- 3.5 tbsp of Honey
- 4 cloves of Garlic
- 1 tsp of Five Spice Powder
- 2 tsp of cornstarch
Method
Step 1: In a big mixing bowl, add chicken and season with 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tbsp of five-spice powder, 1 tbsp of garlic powder, and 2 tbsp of oil. Mix and massage the chicken for 2-3 minutes.
Step 2: Place the chicken in an air fryer, and spray the air fryer with oil to prevent the chicken from sticking. Air Fry the chicken at approx 370F for 15 minutes.
Step 3: After 15 minutes, air fry at 400F for another 7-10 minutes, or until the chicken is crispy and golden brown.
In a pot, add soy sauce, honey, garlic, and five-spice powder.
Step 4: Bring it to a simmer at medium heat and let it cook for 3-5 minutes. Mix 2 tsp of cornstarch with 3 tbsp of cold water, pour the cornstarch mixture into the sauce, and let it simmer for another 1 minute or until it thickens.
Step 5: Mix all the ingredients for the seasoning mix – salt, white pepper, garlic powder, Sichuan peppercorn, mushroom powder, and ground chili.
Step 6: Add crispy chicken wings and pour on the sauce in a big mixing bowl, add 1 tbsp of sesame seeds, and toss everything together. Garnish with green onion. Ready to serve.
