Main Ingredients
- 1 block – silken tofu
- 2 tablespoons – soy sauce OR ponzu (for vegetarian/vegan) OR tamari soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons – mirin
- 1 tablespoon – ginger, grated*
- 1 sprig – spring onion, chopped, to garnish*
- 4 tablespoons – katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes)* (optional for vegetarian/vegan)
Directions for Use
To make this popular summertime side dish, you shall:
Step 1: Carefully flip the silken tofu over in a shallow bowl. In another small bowl, mix mirin with soy sauce.
Step 1: Pour soy sauce mix over tofu. Top with grated ginger, dried bonito flakes, and spring onion.
Step 1: Serve immediately. Enjoy!
* The toppings could be changed to anything, such as: corn, cucumber, plum paste, wasabi, shiso leaves, roasted sesame seeds, wakame, and so on.
