Ingredients
- Pork Belly – 600g
- Cotton Strings – 1m
- Ginger – 5 Slices
- Spring Onion – 2 pcs
- Sake – 30ml
- Japanese Soy Sauce – 100ml
- Mirin – 50ml
- Sugar – 1 Tbsp
- Water – 500ml
Method
- Step 1: Roll the Pork Belly and tie it with the Cotton String.
- Step 2: Pan-fry the Pork Belly in a flat-bottom wok in medium-high heat until the skin of the Pork Belly turns golden brown colour and fragrant. Add in the Ginger & Spring Onion and cook for 1 minute.
- Step 3: Pour in the Sake, Japanese Soy Sauce, Mirin, Sugar and Water. Cook for 40 minutes on medium-low heat. Flip the Pork Belly every 10 minutes. Set aside to cool down.
- Step 4: Slice the Pork Belly into 5mm thick and it’s ready to serve.
