Helan Mountain’s east foothill’s soil mainly comprises sierozem (grey desert soil), meadow soil and grey cinnamon soil. Big temperature difference between day and night, very typical continental climate. Long hours of sunlight, approximately 3000 hours in a year. This region is an arid and semi-arid area of China. Average rainfall in the past 30 years was about 193.4 mm.
