Produced by Chinese-owned Jiangmen Great Harvest Company, this hon mirin product is remarkable for its rich flavour and aroma, and it has an elegant flavour that aids as a traditional seasoning in many recipes. Japanese style hon mirin is composed of fermented glutinous rice, koji rice, and up to 14% distilled Japanese alcoholic beverage, known as shochu. The term ‘hon mirin’ simply means ‘true mirin’. Hon mirin is an ideal ingredient to give a bright glossy finishing touch to grilled or boiled meat and fish dishes.
