Kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce), also known as ketjap manis is a thick soy sauce sweetened with palm sugar. The sauce is very thick (like molasses) and dark in color. The finest quality, ABC Brand, is well-known in Indonesia. It is used as a cooking ingredient in traditional South East Asian dishes, particularly stir fries such as nasi goreng or to flavour tongseng meat stews.
