Lee Kum Kee brand’s spicy bean sauce is the perfect condiment to make the Chinese traditional ma po dishes in style. It is a combination of fermented soybean paste, salted chillies, sesame oil and Sichuan peppers. This sauce has the savoury flavour of dishes of Sichuanese style. It is believed that the recipe of this tofu was found by an aged woman whose face was marked by acnes due to smallpox, and thus it got the name ‘MaPo tofu’.
