Yakult is a Japanese probiotic drink made using a combination of skimmed milk, glucose, and Lactobacillus Casei Shirota bacteria, along with other ingredients including sweetening agents. Yakult is claimed to have several health benefits including improved bowel movements although these claims are unproven. However, probiotics are found to contribute health benefits to humans if used in adequate quantity. The live Lactobacillus Casei Shirota bacteria was discovered by Dr. Minoru Shirota, who is the founder of the Yakult beverage company. Here is the original version of the Yakult drink available in a bundle of 7 bottles, each containing 65ml of Yakult probiotic drink.
