Crème Brûlée recipe

Serves 4 people

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of Nature's Charm Coconut Custard, very chilled
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tsp cane sugar
  • Fresh raspberries (optional for serving)

Method

  • Step 1: Divide the very chilled custard between 4 small shallow ramekins.
  • Step 2: Top each ramekin with 1 tbsp brown sugar, spread in a thin, even layer. Sprinkle each one with 1 tsp cane sugar.
  • Step 3: Using a butane torch, caramelize the sugars until they become dark brown and bubbly. Don't spend too much time in one place and be careful of letting it get too dark.
  • Step 4: Serve immediately.
  • NOTE 1 Chill the custard overnight in the coldest part of the fridge, usually in the top left corner.
  • NOTE 2 Room temperature custard will not work in this recipe. The sugar needs a cold, solid surface to caramelize properly.
