Main Ingredients
- 1 bag of Yellow Egg Noodles (about 454g)
- 2 small fillets of Chicken, white/dark meat, sliced (about 113g)
- 6 medium-sized shrimp, shelled & deveined
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 head of a cabbage, shredded (about 56g)
- 1/4 bag of bean sprouts, root removed & rinsed (about 170g)
- A few tomato wedges (garnishing, optional)
- Some chopped green onion/scallion (garnishing, optional)
Spices
- 3 tablespoons of Nasi Goreng paste
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1½ tablespoons of Indonesian sweet soy sauce (Kecap Manis)
- 1/4 tablespoons of salt

Method
Step 1: Rinse the Yellow Egg Noodles with cold water and drain. Set aside. Slice the chicken meat into small pieces.
Step 2: Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Add minced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant, followed by chicken and shrimp. Stir constantly until they are half-cooked.
Step 3: Now add shredded cabbage and noodles into the wok. Bean sprouts could be added as a personal choice at this step. Stir-fry the mixture for about 10 seconds, and then add the Nasi Goreng paste, followed by sweet soy sauce and salt.
Step 4: Use a tong or a slotted spoon to combine the noodles and other ingredients. Toss the mixture back and forth in the wok until the noodles are cooked well, roughly for a minute.
Step 5: (OPTIONAL ) Garnish your dish with chopped green onion/scallion and a few tomato wedges.
Step 6: Enjoy the Mie Goreng Noodles!
